The Sulphur Mountain boardwalk in Banff has some of the best views in Canada

Banff's magical sky mountain trail might just be the most Instagrammable place in Canada. The Sulphur Mountain boardwalk — located in Alberta — is so high up that you feel like you're strolling on top of the clouds.

The breathtaking trail offers jaw-dropping, 360-degree views of the Canadian Rockies, as well as a glimpse of the unbelievably blue Bow River that runs through the valley below.

Energetic hikers can reach the boardwalk by tackling the 5.5-kilometre Sulphur Mountain Trail, which takes roughly 2 hours. Or, if you're after a more relaxed experience, you can also hop on the Banff Gondola for a quick eight-minute ride to the top.

Feeling hungry? Visitors can also stop to sample some cocktails and homemade s'mores on top of the world. Literally — these aesthetic igloos are located 7000+ft in the sky.

The Banff Gondola stays open until 8:30pm, so dedicated visitors can stay until sunset to capture that perfect wintry picture overlooking the mountains.

The best part? Banff also boasts some of the best hot springs in Canada, so visitors can relax in some steaming mineral waters after their chilly boardwalk experience.
