White Claw is officially coming to Canada

The American alcoholic seltzer so popular that manufacturers have actually been unable to meet demand is finally, at long last, coming to Canada.

White Claw has undeniably become the most trendy beverage of the last year or so thanks to a savvy marketing campaign and strong social media presence that resonates with millennials.

The recognizable white cans have even been the subject of fan tattoos, memes and catch phrases.

The 5 per cent malt beverage comes in a variety of fruity flavours including black cherry, raspberry, ruby grapefruit, lime and mango, as well as unflavoured.

Three more flavours  — watermelon, tangerine and lemon — are due out sometime this year, but there's still no word on which ones will be hitting the shelves in Canada (or which shelves they'll be hitting).

What we do know? The viral gluten-free, low-carb and low-calorie hard seltzer will be available north of the border for the first time ever in 17 days, according to a countdown on the new White Claw Canada website.

For anyone wanting to see what the hype is all about, the time has finally come. And for Canadians who are already fans of the drink, we'll no longer have to travel hours to drive cases of it over the border as of March 1.
