McDonald's Canada just closed all restaurants and will offer drive-thru and delivery only

McDonald's, the one place where doors are normally open even when everything else is closed, is shutting down takeout and dining room service across Canada.

The change went into effect as of March 22. While takeout and eat-in dining is no longer available, customers can still use the drive-thru or delivery to get their hands on hot salty fries and Big Macs.

"Select restaurants may continue to offer take-out service in communities where there are specific needs, including locations near hospitals and healthcare facilities," says a letter from John Betts, President and CEO of McDonald's Restaurants of Canada.

"We know there are people in our communities without a car to access Drive-thru, and not everyone can access McDelivery, which is why we provided take-out service for as long as we could."
