This is how Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spent Easter with his family
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spent Easter with his family at their cottage in Harrington Lake, and it's the most wholesome Canadian family holiday you'll ever see.
The 13-acre property in Quebec boasts beautiful views over the lake. It's located about a 30-minute drive from Rideau Cottage, the Prime Minister's residence in Ottawa.
On Sunday, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau took to social media to share some sweet photos of the family's holiday.
"Hello dear friends! Justin, the kids, and I wanted to take a quick moment to send you all our love and best wishes this long weekend," she wrote.
"Even though families across the country are having to get a little creative and celebrate a bit differently this year, we’re all in this together. So whether you’re able to be with your loved ones or you’re staying connected from afar, we’re thinking of you and keeping you in our hearts…"
"From our family to yours, happy Easter!"
From Sophie Trudeau's posts, it looks like the family spent some time playing games by the fire.
And the Easter Bunny must have paid the family a visit in Harrington Lake, because Trudeau spent some time helping his kids scour the grounds for eggs.
And while it's unclear if Trudeau decorated any of the eggs himself, whoever painted these beauties did one heck of a job.
Admittedly, some Canadians mistakenly thought that the Prime Minister seemed to be breaking some of the physical distancing rules that his government put in place.
But most understood that Trudeau wanted to be with his family on Easter — especially considering that he hasn't seen them in weeks.
Oh no, he spent a long weekend with his wife and kids! How horrible! 🙄

One Canadian even applauded Trudeau's decision to take some time off, writing, "Happy Easter to all of you! Poor Dad needs this bit of a break — he has been up and going for quite a long time now."
Another wrote, "Love this photo. Love seeing you as a dad and enjoying family time. Happy Easter to you and your family."
Trudeau will return to Ottawa in time for his regular 11:15 a.m. press conference on Tuesday.
