montreal taxi driver fight

Fight between Montreal taxi driver and customer goes viral

It was not a smooth ride for this taxi driver and his customer.

In a video circulating on social media, a Montreal taxi driver can be seen getting into a physical altercation with a woman who claimed she needed to go upstairs to her apartment to get money to pay for her ride.

As the driver holds on to the woman's bag — presumably as assurance that she'll actually come back with the money — the woman begins hitting him with her shoe in hopes of freeing her belongings.

"Let go of my stuff," the woman can be heard shouting.

While she is eventually able to get her things back, the taxi driver can be seen shoving her at the end of the video.

"You have to pay," he yelled.

In defence of the woman, the person filming the video also interjected, saying that the taxi driver has no right to touch her belongings. Social media users, on the other hand, seemed to think otherwise.

"How you gonna get on a taxi without the money. That's like going to eat in a restaurant and telling them I'm gonna get the money its at home," someone said on Instagram

Others chimed in with a similar sentiment.

"She has no right to not pay," another person added.
