YouTube stars Jeffree Star and Shane Dawson shut down Canadian tech darling Shopify

YouTube megastars Jeffree Star and Shane Dawson were set to launch their new makeup line, Conspiracy, on Canadian e-commerce site Shopify, but the site couldn't handle the influx of fans on the page, which eventually crashed.

Dawson confirmed that Shopify was trying to solve the issue, but fans of the duo were not pleased. Many people who attempted to buy products were confused about whether their orders went through.

Nothing's worse than finding out the thing you want is sold out.

Others felt straight up betrayed by the Ottawa-based tech firm.

One fan also wondered how much the crash would hurt Star and Dawson's pockets.

At the same time, it's pretty impressive that they managed to crash the site.

The site did get fixed eventually, and, according to Star, products are flying off the digital aisles.

I just heard a collective sigh of relief from their millions of stans.
