Canada dominated the list of best cities in the world for families

There are plenty of great family activities to do in Canada: ice skating, hot-chocolate drinking, skiing — the list is endless. And now, it seems that the rest of the world is catching on.

According to a recent study, Canada has some of the best cities in the world to raise a family in. Three Canadian cities ranked in the top 10 on the list — more than any other country had in the top 10.

The survey assessed 150 cities based on housing affordability, healthcare, air quality, safety, education, living costs, and a variety of other factors.

Quebec City, Que. claimed second place, while Calgary, Alta. ranked number eight on the list. Montreal, Que. finished at number ten.

Other cities on the list include Helsinki, Oslo, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Reykjavik, and Gothenburg.

Interestingly, American cities didn't even make the top 20 — the highest-ranking U.S. city is San Francisco, which finished at number 24.

Canadian cities did particularly well for "best cities in the world for education," with Calgary, Vancouver, Quebec, Montreal, Toronto, and Ottawa all ranking in the top 10.

Canada was also been ranked the second best country in the world this year in another survey, so it looks like 2020 is off to a good start.
