Canadian company's protective face shields look like something out of the future

VYZR Tech is currently designing a protective face shield — and just like the company's name, the shield looks like it came straight out of a sci-fi novel.

The Canadian company's "BioVYZR" is a protective outer layer with a built-in air filtration system. It offers 360-degree face protection, and blocks airborne pathogens and pollutants.

For every BioVYZR sold, the company has pledged to donate a $240 unit to healthcare staff in under-resourced hospitals.

VYZR says that their face shields offer increased protection against airborne pathogens.

"Where both masks and face shields are believed to provide good protection from large droplets, both do not shield from micro-particle aerosols suspended in the air that can reach the nose, mouth, and eyes," the company says.

"When used correctly, the BioVYZR is designed to provide a robust seal around your head and to filter out airborne micro-particles."

The BioVYZR is currently only available as a prototype, but the company is looking to begin production once it secures funding.
