Riverdale star and Canadian actress Vanessa Morgan in talks to be the next Batwoman
Following Ruby Rose's decision to step away from the Batman television series, a talented Canadian star is being eyed up as one of the hottest contenders to take her place.
Riverdale actress Vanessa Morgan is reportedly taking part in auditions and screen tests for the coveted role.
According to The Cinema Spot, Rose's Batwoman character Kate Kane will be replaced by a totally new character called Ryan Wilder.
Morgan, who has starred in Riverdale since 2017, recently called out the show for their depiction of Black characters.
Posting on her social media accounts, the 28-year-old Ottawa native said: "Tired of how Black people are portrayed in Media, tired of us being portrayed as thugs, dangerous or angry scary people. Tired of us also being used as sidekick non-dimensional characters to our white leads. Or only used in the ads for diversity but not actually in the show."
The CW Network reportedly wants an actress who is younger than 30 years old, and “gets” Berlanti Productions and its culture.
